Cold Springs School
About Cold Springs School
Built in 1857, this one room schoolhouse serves as a reminder of local history. It houses a collection of books, old photographs, and Civil War and U.S. Bicentennial memorabilia. Over the years, Cold Springs School has served a variety of purposes, at one time even serving as a Confederate military hospital at Sumner County’s training camp, Camp Trousdale. Later, another function of the building was as a school in the late 1800s and early 1900s, which is how the building is furnished today for visitors to experience.
