Moby Dicky’s is a seafood restaurant and bar on Sanders Ferry Road in Hendersonville, with outdoor tables looking out over Old Hickory Lake. It’s an easygoing place to wind down after an afternoon at Monthaven Arts & Cultural Center, and it’s on our list of pet-friendly restaurants. Palace Theater – Gallatin, TN
The Palace Theater in Gallatin is a beautifully preserved piece of cinematic history, originally opened in 1913 as a silent-movie house and now celebrated as Tennessee’s oldest theater of its kind still in operation. In its early years, audiences enjoyed silent films accompanied by live sound effects created right in the room, giving each show a personal touch. After decades of use and a thoughtful restoration, the theater once again welcomes guests to enjoy movies, concerts, and community performances beneath its nostalgic glow. With its vintage charm and enduring legacy, the Palace Theater offers a timeless entertainment experience right in the heart of downtown Gallatin.
Lime Deli is a counter-service lunch spot at 105 Public Square in Gallatin, a short walk from the Palace Theater. Sandwiches and salads are made to order, like The Fajita, and there are churros and sopapillas for dessert. Lime Deli is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday; check Sunday hours with the deli.
The Retreats at South Water Manor is a unique and stylish guesthouse that sits on the historic property of the FitzGerald Manor. Positioned near the heart of Gallatin, Tennessee, this beautifully restored guesthouse was once a summer kitchen for the staff of the manor. While preserving the history and the architectural details, the building has been renovated to a very high standard, with every effort to couple the stories of yesterday with the conveniences and luxuries of today.
