THE NERD is the story of Willum Cubbert, an aspiring young architect who has often told his friends about the debt he owes to Rick Steadman, a fellow ex-GI whom he has never met but who saved his life after he was seriously wounded in Vietnam. He has written to Rick to say that, as long as he is alive, "you will have somebody on Earth who will do anything for you" - so Willum is delighted when Rick shows up unexpectedly at his apartment on the night of his thirty-fourth birthday party. But his delight soon fades as it becomes apparent that Rick is a hopeless "nerd" - a bumbling oaf with no social sense, little intelligence and less tact. And, Rick stays on and on, his continued presence among Willum and his friends leading to one uproarious incident after another until the normally placid Willum finds himself contemplating violence - a dire development, which, happily, is staved off by the surprising "twist" ending of the story. The Nerd will be performed on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and on Sundays at 2:00. For more information or to purchase your tickets, you can visit our website at hpactn.com or call our box office at 615-826-6037. The Hendersonville Performing Arts Company is located in the City Square Shopping Center, 260 West Main St., Suite 204 in Hendersonville. All CDC Guidelines are followed and at the time of your ticket purchase, all seats are automatically socially distanced.

[more+]Ragnar Relay, out of Salt Lake City, Utah, with the support of Heritage Law Group of Gallatin, Tennessee, announces the Ragnar Sunset Tennessee, presented by Heritage Law Group is coming at you May 1, 2021 at the famed Lock 4 Park in Gallatin, Tennessee, benefiting JDRF. This event is formerly known as the Ragnar Trail Sprint Tennessee of September 2020, rescheduled due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. If you love a good team challenge and crave time in the great outdoors, this Sunset relay has got you covered — 1 day, 4 runners, 2 loops and 30-ish miles.
Your team of 4 will set up camp for the day in Ragnar Village at Lock 4 Park in Gallatin, just 30 miles from Nashville. You’ll wind your way through rolling hills and single-track rooty trails with incredible views overlooking the Cumberland River. Each team member will take turns running two different trail loops.
When you’re not running you can party with the whole Village complete with live music, drinks and food trucks all day long. And when you finish all 8 loops, your whole team will cross the finish line together and celebrate what you were able to accomplish with your amazing team.
CEO of Heritage Law Group and long-time Ragnar enthusiast, Jake Mason noted, “I’m thrilled to be able to partner with such an amazing company as Ragnar in order to bring a remarkable event to Gallatin, where my family and I live, work, and play. I’m elated to be presenting this first-time event in Gallatin.” He continued, “It supports Heritage Law Group’s advocacy for the health of our community by encouraging involvement through running and sponsorship, and my personal pursuit of contributing to keep Gallatin the most wonderful city in which to live.”
